Today I thought I would do a Outfit of the day post as I have only done one before (Since I remade my blog). Considering the weather, when I get home from work I throw on whatever is warm and cosy. but today was my Uni day so I thought I would share. I would normally wear a hooded coat or Jacket as it has been extremely windy and with the heavy down pours, I would rather not look like I have been hit by a hurricane but despite the weather reports saying it was going to rain again this afternoon, I risked being soaked through as I was getting bored of wearing Parker jackets. Thankfully I survived being blown away. I do exaggerate I know…
Anyhow I have loved layering clothes up, so today I wore my boyfriend jacket which I recently purchased along with a black and white daisy dress, thick tights and leggings, Chelsea style boots and a Mohair scarf. I tend to wear dark colours so this scarf defiantly gives some colour in my outfit without it being to vibrant. I will list below the exact items I am wearing and links where possible.
Studded Shopper Bag: Primark AW12 collection
Chelsea Boots: H&M As seen here
Black & White Daisy Dress, Only bought last week but cannot find a link on website. Alternatively a skirt in same fabric is available: As seen here
Jersey Leggings: H&M As seen here
Michael Kors Watch: As seen here
Bracelet: Made by me :)
Mohair Pink Scarf: with Locket: Paul Smith
Let me know what you think :)
Until then TTFN
It has been some time since my last post, no other reason than been busy with writing my dissertation and other university projects along side my part time job. I have wanted to write something on here for so long, before Christmas believe it or not but where does the time go…January will be soon be gone and before I know it I will of finished university. It is quite scary how quickly time goes by really. By the time I have got ready for the day, done what I need to do (work, coursework , cleaning ect ect) , sipped a few cups of tea im jiggered.
For someone in their early 20’s im unsure this is right. It gets to 10pm and I’m watching the news and slowly nodding off. I feel like Bilbo who hasn’t gone on an unexpected journey because there just doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day to further than the Shire…
Cutting the blabberish out, I have recently been trying to organised in the hope to fit more into my day, giving myself strict deadlines in the hope to get a chance of exploring further than my postcode…
Apps and writing to do lists in a diary has been the centre of my organisation so here are some that I thought I would share.
'Penultimate' from Evernote has been an app on the Ipad that I have been using for quite some time now, I downloaded it originally to keep university project planning in order with the ability to jot down notes. For jotting down notes on this app I tend to use a stylus so that my writing stays neat and I can do rough sketches. As the app is created by Evernote you are able to export your notes to your account to be accessed elsewhere, meaning if you are anything like me and forget to bring your notes or even your Ipad to Uni you can access them on another device by logging in. Here is a short video made by Evernote showing of Penulitimes features.
'Remember the milk' is a simple yet effective application which allows you to create categories for your daily tasks such as personal, work and university for example. You are able to prioritize tasks such as appointments, meetings and stick to deadlines through a simple colour coding system and the ability to mark it when a task is complete. This app also gives you reminders of activates coming up making it ideal for those who wish to keep to a schedule.
The diary I keep is two in one as it is doubled paged., so the same days of the week apply to the left and right handside of the diary, meaning 2 diaries haven’t been necessary for me to balance work/home life activities with University.
It is called the busy life dairy a KTwo product. I bought this from the calendar shop but their selection of diaries can be found at ktwhoroducts.com or direct link here https://www.ktwoproducts.com/products/280_2014_busy_life_diary_2579
I am pretty sure you will be able to find it on Amazon too.
As much as I love making the use of technology and using apps to keep my to do’s in order, traditional methods of note taking is something I like to be able to fall back on if my phone decides to die of battery.
I hope these apps may be of use to you as much as they have for me. If you would like to know some of my other favourite apps, let me know and I will write a post about whatever in particular you would like to know whether it is games, photo editing ect.
Until my next post..
Today I thought I would do a post on relaxing after a manic day. As it is Saturday it seems appropriate to talk about down time after the mad rush of the week, so I thought I would share some things I like to do to relax and pretty much my night time routine before visiting the land of nod.The past month or two I have had my fair share of cold and flu with about four weeks In-between, so it hasn’t felt like I have had much time well since December, although the cold I have currently hasn’t turned me into a walking zombie as of yet…. :/ illness always seems to be a common occurrence in January and from what I have heard and seen from others, I’m not the only one.
So when it comes down to unwind after a long day or I have no energy from illness I tend to remove all my worried and badness from the day by following these steps.
1. Buy some feel good food. For me this tends to be things that I shouldn’t really have because I tend to munch on savoury snacks all the time… Cool flavour tortillas/sweet chilli sensations/ Pringles with cheese and chive dip… If I am left alone with potato snacks they will be gone… Pretty soon. I have always been a savoury over sweet person unless Jelly Bellys are involved.
2. Hot beverage. Tea or Hot Chocolate as it’s more than likely I have had a lot of coffee during the day.
3. Get comfortable in my clothing so putting on pj’s/onsie and slippers are a must to unwind.
4. Relieve myself from today’s ever growing tired face and remove all my makeup.
5. Light some candles. Candle light always helps me relax especially if they are scented too.
6. Browse the web. I like to mostly check social media but then swiftly move on to watching my Favourite beauty gurus on YouTube as well as reading blog posts. Sometimes I like to get a chapter or two read from the latest book I am reading always helps me relax.
7.Take a bath, I generally take a shower for easiness and quickness but when I’ve had a really long day or I’m feeling poop I will have a long relaxing bath with a bath bomb and my iPad to watch something on Catch up tv or YouTube.
8. Relaxing music. Recently I have been listening to The Great Gatsby Orchestral score which was a Christmas present from my boyfriend and I am completely obsessed with it. I normally listen to music in bed with my headphones on, this really helps me relax and in most cases fall asleep.
This is just my routine to help me unwind which I’m sure your ways of relaxing may be very different to mine. I’m sure depending on the weather and the time of year, your routine will change. I would love to go for a walk along the promenade near where I live, but the bitter cold wind and rain we have had recently I would much rather just cocoon myself in my duvet pretty much like this…
Although sometimes I do study like this, most recently when trying to get my dissertation draft done while suffering with flu.
I came across this post on writechangegrow through the wonders of google.
This may be useful to you as it has to me, although not using the internet to read blogs and articles is a BIG no no in my opinion. I love technology too much.
If you have any tips on relaxing or if you have similar routine, I would love to hear from you.
Until next time
It has been some time since my last post but I’ve returned just as the weather becomes bleak and miserable here in the UK :( But on the bright side I have been eyeing up some must have Fall/Autumn items which I couldn’t resist to share. Cut out boots are a growing trend this AW13 with celebrities and fashion bloggers giving us a taster of what is to come. I have become a big fan of velvet recently so I’m hoping to see more velvet skirts and dresses this AW.
I am sure they are not everyones ideal pair of boots for the time of year but depending on the weather, a pair of tights or thick socks will stop any risk of frostbite.. ( Rain however could be out of the question)
I personally have absolutely fallen in love with these cut out boots, which will defiantly be on my wish list of things to buy in the next month. Because of my undying love for these beauties, I thought of nothing better than sharing with where you can get these babies from and the variations in designs, such as the buckles and heel.
The price range of the boots that I have picked does vary from the higher end brands ,to high street buys and too good to miss bargains but whatever budget there is a pair out there for you. Personally I love the pair I found on eBay they are very similar to the Jeffrey Campbell design but at a fraction of the price.
I hope to be posting more of my favourite finds, monthly favourite products I have been using and my monthly wishlists on my blog. This week I will be blogging about my essentials for going back to uni as I will be going into my third year at the end of this month. Until then :)
Hurts - Somebody to Die For. Ahh man I would love to go see them
